The Malian army says at least 4 Malian soldiers were killed and at least 14 were injured in what became known as the Cold War on Sunday.
The Malian military, in its press release, was consulted by the Anatolian Agency, which said the six attackers were neutral.
“Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) from the Guerrero Sector 6 security post actively repulsed an attack by an armed terrorist group in the Nara region. It will be this Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 2:45 p.m. The provisional figure shows 4 deaths on the FAMA side and 6 terrorists killed, ”the statement said.
The Malian army notes: “Immediately, 03 wounded were evacuated by FAMA helicopter”.
The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces also conveyed his deepest condolences to the families and brothers of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
On the same day, a police station in the town of Koro in the Mopti region, the center of the country, was targeted by terrorists at around 11am, local sources said. The police retaliation was made possible by the repression of the attack by several armed terrorists.
No casualties were reported, according to local sources.
Mali, especially the center of the country, has fallen into insecurity since 2012.
Despite the concentration of regional and international forces, the situation is still not stable.
