In Ivory Coast, “there is no question of legalizing homosexuality,” Ivory government spokesman Amato Coolibali announced Wednesday, noting that marriage exists between a man and a woman.
During a press conference at the end of the Committee of Ministers, Mr. Amado Coolipali replied.
“Unfortunately, we are in the middle of a manipulation. There is no question of regularizing or legalizing homosexuality,” an Ivory government spokesman said.
“A month ago, when a representative of the government presented this speech, some delegates were offended by this phrase of sexual orientation and it was immediately withdrawn and the text was accepted in the committee without the conclusion of a single sentence,” he explained.
According to him, “This is a debate that has been closed for a month. But since we were in the middle of the manipulation (…) we continued to increase this fact, whereas for a month, the text was accepted in the commission without this part of the sentence.
“The evidence is that it was unanimously accepted by the parliamentarians,” he said.
Government spokesman Amato Coolipalli, Minister of Communications, Media and Francophony, recalled, “In C டிte d’Ivoire, marriage law governs marriage; in this law, marriage is between a man and a woman.”
